At the Copley Arts Society in Boston, author of the play, Jack Beatty followed the production with comments and a response to questions about the most recent version of the play. Beatty has been a Guggenheim Fellow, a Poynter Fellow in Journalism at Yale University, and a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He has received two research grants from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, has won an Olive Branch Award for writing about war and peace from New York University and a William Allen White Award for criticism from the University of Kansas. In 2002 he delivered the first annual lecture in Business Ethics at Purdue’s Graduate School of Management. He was the keynote speaker at the First Annual Peter Drucker Symposium held in Vienna in November 2009, Peter Drucker’s 100th birthday. Jack was a longtime senior editor at The Atlantic Monthly and previously worked as a book reviewer at Newsweek and as the literary editor of The New Republic. A Boston native, Jack is also a respected and prize-winning author.
