Michael Cormier first visited Salem when he was 12, and he’s been fascinated with its history and culture ever since. A graduate of Haverhill High School, Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Northeastern University, majoring in Political Science and minoring in History. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University. Saltonstall’s Trial is his first play.
Myriam Cyr is a theater director and critically acclaimed writer and award-winning actress. Ms. Cyr is currently Artistic Director of Punctuate4 Productions, dedicated to developing new works. She was awarded Best Director by Broadway World in 2020 for the latest production of Saltonstall’s Trial. Cyr is the author of Letters of a Portuguese Nun, named Book of the Month in 2007 by The Guardian and translated into eight languages. As a playwright, she co-authored with Michael Cormier, the Broadway World Award-winning play Saltonstall’s Trial. She is the co-author, with Lorraine Liscio, of Moving Bodies; served as dramaturg on Jack Beatty’s play, The Battle Not Begun; as well as on Simon Says by Mat Schaffer. She has served as consultant to Oscar winning film director Hugh Hudson (Chariots of Fire) and has worked with Oscar-winner Christopher Hampton’s (Dangerous Liaison, Atonement) film adaptation of Hedda Gabler.
